Still riding over the success of the Cuban Ensemble Plays Nat King Cole En Espanol, David Murray strikes back with a new unique project and line-up: Black Music Infinity Quartet, gathering around him some of the finest jazz musicians as Marc Cary (Piano), Charnett Moffett (Bass) and Nasheet Waits (Drums).

The name of Black Music Infinity was inspired to David from a group of people – musicians and professors occupying a strong and deep place in David’s heart – he met at the age of 18 years old (in 1973) and used to frequent a lot, close to the black studies.

The term Black stayed, and combined with the name of a loft in New York he used to transform into a studio: the studio ‘Infinity’, the name of Black Music Infinity Quartet was born.

This new quartet is the time and place for David to create a new repertory for his next album.
